InnoDB in Semi-dedicated Servers
All our Linux semi-dedicated servers come with InnoDB and you will be able to take advantage of all the features offered by this MySQL storage engine with any PHP-driven web app that requires it. InnoDB is among the engines that we have on our cloud website hosting platform, so the one that will be selected depends on the requirements of the application in question. You won’t have to do anything manually in order to enable InnoDB, because it will be set as the default engine when you install an application – whether manually or using our 1-click app installer tool. To avoid any risk, we’ll create regular database backups, so if anything goes wrong following an update or if you erase some content unintentionally, we will be able to get your database back to the way it was on any of the past seven days.
InnoDB in VPS Servers
If our custom-built Hepsia Control Panel is selected during the registration process for a new VPS servers , InnoDB will be activated on the server together with other essential pieces of software, so you will not have to do anything if you decide to use PHP-based web applications that require this MySQL database storage engine. MyISAM, the default MySQL engine, will be installed too. You can create a brand-new database and start installing the application manually or using our one-click installation tool. The system will automatically recognize which engine the app in question needs and will set it for the specific MySQL database, so the installation will proceed impeccably and the app can import its data into that database. Thus, you can use applications with various prerequisites concerning the MySQL engine without having to make any modifications on your VPS.
InnoDB in Dedicated Servers
If you order a new dedicated server, you’ll be able to select any of the three Control Panels offered by us – Hepsia, DirectAdmin and cPanel. Each server ordered with Hepsia comes with InnoDB pre-activated, so you won’t need to add this MySQL database engine manually so as to be able to manage open-source script-based web apps that require it. InnoDB is used for scalable apps and since a dedicated server will give you all the system resources that you require to run large-size websites, it’s pretty likely that you will use InnoDB. You’ll be able to use other engines too, so if a certain app needs MyISAM rather than InnoDB, you won’t come across any impediment while using it. The engine that will be used will be recognized automatically as soon as the app installation process starts, so you will not need to configure any settings manually at any time.
